It is with a heavy heart that we announce, upon vote of the board, that we will not be able to have a 20-21 Buddy Werner ski season. As you know, the Buddy Werner ski racing program is all about community and through that community we are able to teach our young athletes about ski racing and instill in them a love for the sport. Unfortunately, the pandemic created by Covid-19 has severely impacted our abilities to gather as communities in all aspect of our lives. And while it appears that our ski resorts will be able to open this upcoming winter, they are only able to do so by imposing strict limitations on the use of their indoor facilities and group gatherings. These limitations, while understandable and necessary for the safe operating of ski resorts during the pandemic, make our ability to run a safe and fun Buddy Werner ski racing program this season an impossibility. So, we encourage you to get outdoors and up to the mountain as much as safely possible this winter and then look for us to be back and better than ever for the 21-22 ski season.
